AIXSciences is organized by the ELLIS Unit Jena in cooperation with the Carl-Zeiss-Stiftung

On November 27th, 2023, AI experts from various research projects in Jena gathered in the Rosensäle of Friedrich Schiller University Jena  to exchange ideas on the topic of AI and present their developments and innovations. The event was organized by the ELLIS unit Jena in collaboration with the Carl Zeiss Foundation. Ranging from research in earth sciences to sensor-assisted surgery and smart communities, the projects showcased how AI could enhance daily lives and offered insights into the diverse research achievements in the field of AI in Jena.
The opening of AIXSciences Jena was conducted by the directors of the ELLIS Unit Jena, Prof. Dr. Joachim Denzler and Prof. Dr. Markus Reichstein, in collaboration with the CEO of the Carl Zeiss Foundation, Dr. Felix Streiter, and the Mayor of Jena, Dr. Thomas Nitzsche. As the highlight of the event, keynote speakers, including Prof. Dr. med. Nils Opel from the University Hospital Jena, Prof. Dr. Miguel Mahecha from the University of Leipzig, and Prof. Dr. Jochen Triesch from Goethe University in Frankfurt, provided groundbreaking insights into their respective fields.
