Augut 15, 2023: It is with great excitement that we introduce George Blougouras, our newest addition to the ELLIS team of talented PhD candidates.

George main research interests are climate physics, eco-hydrology and (knowledge-integrated) machine intelligence system frameworks for earth system science. His PhD focuses on the development and employment of deep hybrid learning algorithms in order to explore and better understand ecohydrological processes, and more specifically, water-vegetation interactions, across different spatiotemporal scales.

George’s research journey will undoubtedly bring fresh insights and innovation to our ongoing projects, and we are thrilled to embark on this collaborative academic adventure with him.

George joins our dynamic research community alongside the two other ELLIS PhD candidates Claire Robin and Vitus Benson, adding another layer of expertise and enthusiasm to our growing family.

Together with Claire, Vitus, and our dedicated group leaders, we look forward to achieving new heights in research excellence and exploration. Here’s to the future of discovery and learning! 🚀✨
