Oana-Iuliana Popescu
PhD candidate at the German Aerospace Center (DLR), Institute of Data Science Jena

Oana joined the Causal Inference Group at the German Aerospace Center (DLR) as PhD student in June 2022 with the goal to develop AI-based methods for causal discovery and inference. She is especially interested in explainable AI, a topic she has been pursuing since her Master’s degree in 2019. At DLR, she is working towards developing and applying algorithms for the detection of anomalous and extreme events within the EU-funded XAIDA and the DLR-internal CausalAnomalies projects. Oana studied Computer Science at Bauhaus-Universität Weimar and Friedrich-Schiller Universität Jena.
