Dr. Thomas Suesse
Senior lecturer at the University of Wollongong

Thomas (MSc (Dipl.-Math.) Mathematics, Friedrich-Schiller-University (FSU) of Jena, Germany; PhD, Statistics, Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand) is senior lecturer at the University of Wollongong.
As a member of the National Institute of Applied Statistics Research Australia (NIASRA), his research interests comprise categorical data analysis, spatial statistics, autoregressive models, missing data, social networks, survey estimation, medicine, education, and early childhood education. Apart from his statistical research he is also involved as a statistician in important projects, such as the SUNRISE study to monitor the WHO guidelines on physical activity, sedentary behaviour and sleep for children under 5 years involving 60 countries.
Since January 2023 he is working as a senior research fellow with Prof Alexander Brenning in the project “data driven detection of space-time trends and anomalies in earth system data” which is funded by the Jena Excellence Fellowship Programme (Freiraum Fellowship) for 6 months.
