Dr. Christian Reimers
Postdoctoral Researcher at the Max Planck Institute for Biogeochemistry Jena
Christian is a Postdoctoral researcher at the Max Planck Institute for Biogeochemistry (MPI-BGC) in Jena, Germany. His research focuses on developing specialized neural network architectures for Earth system science applications. He also has experience in explainable AI, adversarial examples, medical image analysis and causal inference. During his PhD, he studied the use of causal inference methods to understand and influence feature selection in neural networks. Christian received his degree in Mathematics from the University of Göttingen in 2017 and his PhD in Computer Science from the Friedrich Schiller University Jena in 2023.
